Dave and Kelly got married this past weekend at the beautiful Newland's Golf Course. We headed out to Campbell Valley Park for some fun portraits. It was a hot day, but so beautiful. Thanks for sharing this day with us!

Six years ago to the day, my little brother married his true love.
As four o'clock rolled around, the dark clouds had lifted and we were surrounded by close family and friends. The ceremony took place at my parents property on south Pender Island and we had a lovely reception at Poet's Cove.
The sky gave Brooke and I a perfect backdrop for some dramatic images on Gowlnad Point.

The rain held off despite the dark clouds!

I am so happy that the sun and *warmth* has returned here in the Fraser Valley, it makes shooting so much more fun!

A couple of weeks ago Brooke and I flew down to California to shoot this beautiful wedding. She grew up with the bride, but hadn't seen her for twenty years! Dawn and Jonathon are both meteorologists in New Orleans and are used to being in front of the camera, which made our job very easy. The temperature was over 100 degrees and the valley was aglow in the warmth. It was an absolutely stunning venue with great people, an amazing band, Bonerama, and incredible food!

Last weekend Brooke and I shot in the rain, this weekend we shot in the scorching sun!
What a difference, but needless to say, both weddings were equally beautiful. I started Sunday morning at The Pinnacle Hotel doing pictures of the guys getting ready, as Brooke headed to the Bayshore downtown to photograph the girls.
The wedding was held at the beautiful Vancouver Rowing Club in Stanley Park. At 3:30, just as the ceremony was about to begin, Jess surprised Marty by riding a bicycle along the seawall to meet him. It was so sweet watching Marty's reaction!
The venue was amazing, and all of the details were gorgeous.

It was a warm humid Saturday morning as I packed my gear into my car. The forcast had called for 90% chance of light rain. Brooke and I were headed out to the Fraser River Lodge to shoot Ryan and Justine's wedding. As the rain fell steadily down, Justine was a beautiful, calm and confident bride. Nothing was going to ruin her day... especially not the rain.
The Fraser River Lodge was the perfect place for a wedding. The ceremony was outdoors over looking the river, and the reception was in a beautiful conference room that again, faced the breathtaking view of Mt Cheam and the Fraser River.

getting ready
As I left Abbotsford yesterday the clouds were rolling in and there were signs of precipitation. I was on my way to Queen's Park in New Westminster to shoot this great couple's wedding. As I arrived, the sky was blue and the sun was shining.
This was a small wedding with only close friends and family. I loved how intimate it was, and I was honoured to be invited to capture this special day for them. Here are a few favourites from the day.

This past Saturday this wonderful couple came together to begin a new chapter in their lives. The whole day was unique with every last detail representing some aspect of their lives.

For the formal shots, the couple wanted some lifestyle images of them walking down Commercial Drive. They've lived here for years and wanted to visit all their local hang outs. Such a fun idea!

This has been a weekend to remember! On Friday, Joel's youngest brother Graeme married Aimee. I now have a wonderful new sister in law who is beautiful, smart and has the sweetest heart.
Brooke and I took a break and enjoyed the day as the talented Scott Pankratz of Paramount Portraits did the formals and ceremony. I met up with Aimee and her bridesmaids Friday morning as they were getting ready and took some "getting ready shots."
Brooke and I also covered the reception between bites of food and tearing up the dance floor!
